Combined with heavy reliance on borewell water, this results in a high concentration of fine sand, silt, clay, and suspended solids. When the bore wells are run continuously, especially during the summer months, minute particles are drawn into the water supply system. They remain invisible in new water, making it seem clean. However, when the water flows, gravity causes the rest to happen. The particles settle at the bottom of the tank as thick sludge.
